The Ironmaster Quick-Lock 45 single is the most affordable doorway into Ironmaster's plate-loaded system, ideal for buyers who want to start small or build a pair gradually. It uses the same proven hardware as the larger sets: a steel handle, square machined plates, and a quick-locking screw rod that clamps everything tight by hand. Out of the box a single bell covers 5 to 45 pounds in 5-pound increments, and because it shares the platform with Ironmaster's bigger configurations, you can later buy add-on plate kits to push capacity well beyond 45 pounds without replacing the handle. The locked plates produce a dumbbell with no rattle, no plastic, and nothing to wear out, and the bell can be set down firmly between sets in a way geared dumbbells cannot tolerate. The compromise is the same as the rest of the line, namely that changing weight means unscrewing, swapping plates, and re-locking, which is deliberate rather than instant. At 45 pounds the bell is compact and easy to handle, and the build quality far exceeds what the modest price suggests. For a durability-minded lifter testing the waters or assembling a set piece by piece, the 45-pound single is an excellent value.
