This configuration pairs the PowerBlock Elite EXP base with the Stage 2 expansion kit to deliver 5 to 70 pounds per hand, hitting the middle ground between the standard 50-pound set and the fully loaded 90-pound flagship. It is a popular choice for lifters who know 50 pounds will not be enough for long but do not yet need the full Pro range. The nesting-block design keeps the load tight to the hand even at 70 pounds, and weight changes still happen with a quick selector-pin move plus the magnetic adder for in-between loads. Because the Stage 2 plates simply drop into the existing frame, the upgrade is seamless and the blocks gain capacity without changing how they handle. Build quality matches the rest of the Elite line, with steel plates, a durable handle, and a frame engineered for heavy daily selection. The familiar PowerBlock trade-offs apply: the U-shaped handle is an acquired taste, the square profile feels bulkier than a round bell at the lightest settings, and a 70-pound block is sizeable. But for a lifter who wants real top-end weight with room to expand further later, this Stage 2 configuration is a well-judged balance of capacity and value.
