Echelon Fitness
Echelon Row-S
A foldable connected magnetic rower with a 22-inch rotating touchscreen for Echelon's live and on-demand classes.
The premium black-walnut version of the WaterRower, offering the same water stroke in a richer hardwood finish.
MSRP is a reference figure — live price is on the retailer's site.
The WaterRower Classic is the brand's higher-end finish, built from solid black walnut and rubbed with a hand-applied urethane that gives it a deep, dark tone suited to formal spaces. Mechanically it is the same proven design as the Natural: a bladed paddle turns inside a water-filled tank, so resistance rises and falls in step with how hard you drive through each stroke. There is no resistance dial to fiddle with, which keeps the experience intuitive and means two people of very different fitness can share the machine without changing settings. The motion is fluid and the only real sound is moving water, a tone many people find calming rather than intrusive. The S4 monitor handles pace, distance, stroke rate and heart-rate pickup, and connects to the WaterRower app and several third-party platforms, though it stops short of the rich screens found on connected rowers. Like the rest of the range it stores upright against a wall in a remarkably small footprint. You are paying a premium over the ash Natural largely for the walnut aesthetic and finish, and the monitor remains modest, but if you want a water rower that looks like heirloom furniture this is the flagship of the line.
